چکیده
studyof 4 cases of uncoplicated total anomalous pulmlonalry venous drainage, in connection with the systemic circuit is in the region of the porta hepatis, revealed similar clinical and radiologic findings, so that in the fourth case the diagnosis was suspected and confirmed by angiocardiographic study. Mainly due to the obstruction of pulmonary venous outflow, this form of total anomalous pulmonary venous drainage forms a distinct entity and the physiologie disturbance is quite different from those anomalies of the venous return in which the connection with the systemic (irculation is above the diaphragm.

Evaluation of infradiaphragmatic total anomalous pulmonary venous connection with two-dimensional echocardiography.
In three newborn infants with infradiaphragmatic total anomalous pulmonary venous connection, the common pulmonary vein was visualized with two-dimensional echocardiography and validated with saline contrast injections. The transducer was placed in the subcostal region in a sagittal body plane so as to image the descending aorta and the vertebral column. The common pulmonary vein, which connect...

We present the case of a newborn with severe pulmonary hypertension, diagnosed with infradiaphragmatic type of total anomalous pulmonary venous connection (TAPVC). The onset was in the first 10 days of life. Diagnosis was made by echocardiography and AngioCT. The pulmonary venous collector was surgically implanted into the left atrium in Germany, but the next month after surgery he developed ca...
متن کاملStudy of the infradiaphragmatic total anomalous pulmonary venous connection with cross-sectional and pulsed Doppler echocardiography.
We studied neonates with the infradiaphragmatic form of total anomalous pulmonary venous drainage by a combination of cross-sectional echocardiography and pulsed Doppler ultrasound. The diagnosis by ultrasound was made prospectively in all six patients. Three large vascular channels could be observed passing through the diaphragm from the subcostal parasagittal plane. The vessels were identifie...
متن کاملTwo cases of total anomalous pulmonary venous return of the supracardiac type with stenosis simulating infradiaphragmatic drainage.
T OTAL anomalous pulmonary venous return has been classified into four types: cardiac, supracardiae, infracardiae, and mixed, depending on the route by which blood is conveyed by the anomalous vein to the riaht side of the heart.' A simplified classification has recently been suggested based on the known physiologic effect of infradiaphragmatic drainage, namely pulmonary venous obstruction.2 O1...

FRIEDLOWSKY, in 1868, was the first to report total anomalous pulmonary venous connection.' 2 This entity, with its, multiple varieties,3 is receiving increasing attention with the recent encouraging reports of suecessful surgical therapy.4 The infradiaphragmatic form was first described by Ghon in 1916,5 and a total of 37 cases has since been reported.5 24 Obstruction to the pulmonary venous d...
